What Is SEO: Search Traffic Optimization Simplified

What is SEO? It’s a process that provides the right answer for both humans and search engine to a defined keyword requests. Any content that meets these criteria the most will rank number one on the search engine for the related keyword.

The reason many new bloggers don’t easily get ranked on the search engine is their limited knowledge of SEO. It’s easy for anyone to believe that their content will drive online visitors to their blog. The answer is both Yes and No!

Yes because Google gives preference to quality contents in the search algorithm. But no, because the visitors you want to attract may not even see your content. Period!

Let’s start with the nitty-gritty of what is SEO. But first, I want to show you what I have packaged for you in this free unique course.

This Course Outline

Here is what I discovered about blogging, how blog traffic works and the nitty-gritty of making money through blogs. I will be sharing these secrets with you through the free course modules I have packaged for you. Below are links to each course module.

  1. What Is SEO: Search Engine Traffic Optimization Simplified
  2. What Is Keyword Planner: Search Trend Optimization Simplified
  3. What Is Content Marketing: Search Request Optimization Simplified
  4. Blog Monetization Strategies: Search Revenue Optimization

This free guide will shape your SEO strategy with an understanding you didn’t know was common. The whole idea is to fully answer this question: What is SEO?

Learn What Matters

Sometimes, those who know too much will want to confuse those who know little. Avoid trying to understand everything people are teaching about search engine optimisation.

Don’t confuse yourself. That’s how some people get discouraged about search optimisation. The moment you start thinking you haven’t known enough, you will feel inadequate.

I would suggest instead, that you stick to the basic SEO techniques. Google is not going to Rank your blog based on your SEO ability.

In fact, Google is not even ranking your blog based on keyword. But once you learn what matters in SEO and apply it well, you will see free traffic every day.

What Is SEO Ranking?

Every time you post on your blog, the search engine index it. And the ranking is according to the defined content authority rating. For search engines to rank your blog is not a problem at all. I don’t think it so, because of Google indexes all posts from every blog online.

Mobile SEO is important

Even blogs that are of less quality get indexed.

However, SEO strategy is how we push our blog post to the top page of online visitors search requests. So that specific request keys find an answer in your blog response.

That requires a strategy since you are not the only blog on the internet. According to blogger.org, one of WordPress blog engine records over 2 million daily blog posts.

And that is over 60 million posts in one month. The competition for top page search engine is stiff. That is why you need an SEO strategy to wade through the busy streets of a search engine.

How Search Engine Traffic Works

Search engine traffic is not a mystery. In fact, it’s available for free to everyone. That’s the beauty of it. It’s why you should go for it.

But first, you will need to understand how it works. The search engine is designed to pull out search results for search queries.

That’s what bloggers optimise, to connect with these search requests from online visitors. For as much traffic you get the more free traffic you attract to your blog.

The search engines are not there to send traffic to any blog. They only index blog posts with defined keyword terms. And as requests relate to those terms, search engine presents sites that meet those requests according to their indexed hierarchy.

Google only matches those keywords with the indexed contents in its database, according to visitors defined search terms.

Remember, for each post you rank on Google; it would eventually rub off on the rest of your page as well. And one keyword can make so much different in your volume of traffic you get daily.

Some Google Ranking Factors

There are factors predetermined by Google on how blogs are ranked. They are not secrets. Most of these limits are available online, even on the Google website. At least, you should have an idea what factors may influence or affect the ranking of your blog.

Here is the list:

  • Domain registration length
  • Domain History
  • Title Tag
  • Description Tag
  • Content-Length
  • Table of Contents
  • Content Relevance to Keyword
  • Page Covers Topic In-Depth
  • Page Loading Speed
  • Use of AMP
  • Entity Match
  • Google Hummingbird
  • Duplicate Content
  • Rel=Canonical
  • Image Optimization
  • Content Recency

And the list goes on and on. You can also find the full detailed list here, on Backlinko

Optimizing For Search Engine Free Traffic:

That brings us to how to optimise for the search engine. That’s what every new blogger should know. If your blog is not ranking, it dies. It’s just the way it works. If you are not getting visitors, there is no purpose for your blog. It’s just a bunch of templates and words.

And from the explanation earlier, you can see that we have touched on crucial areas with optimisation. Let me tabulate them for clarity.

  1. Visitors are searching for an answer like “what is seo”?
  2. Search requests typing using strings of keywords
  3. Google matches those keywords with content already indexed in its server
  4. It displays the best-related contents to the search request
  5. The results appear in a hierarchical order, with the most optimised ahead of the rest.
  6. And visitors scan through the list and click on what interests them or seems to answer their request.

You can see that from the table above we have simplified how Search Engine works. And how to optimise for traffic. It’s not as complicated as many think.

The question on your mind now is, how do I write the best content in the niche I’m targeting? Your answer is to give Google what people are searching. And connect that content to defined keyword requests.

What Visitors Are Searching For Online:

Interestingly, blog contents are not optimised only for the search engine but made readable for humans as well. The job of Google is to help visitors discover the best solution that addresses their need.

Google isn’t sympathetic if your competitor is better optimised than you. But will send the available search traffic to your competitor’s.

Also, the Google algorithm doesn’t feel human. It’s a machine and doesn’t have to think to solve problems. If a visitor makes shoe requests, Google shows the sites optimised for shoes that best describes the offer.

Search requests often come as questions. And Google only pulls from the top of indexed answers. But Google minds just blogs that provide solutions.

How Your Blog Gets Free Traffic

Likewise, you are more likely to get these visitors if you present better answers than your competitors. Google is just an intermediary here. It’s between the request keywords and your related content.

I have also learned that good blogs have their peculiarities. They give the right answers in a way that is both simple, detailed and easy to understand.

Those factors are what drives search engine free traffic to your blog. And if maintained, they are what will keep bringing even more visitors to your blog.

Already, search traffic can increase with time and when certain conditions are favourable as well. Google algorithm sees related synonyms with keywords. It can increase the number of keywords a single post can rank for at the same time.

According to Neil Patel, in the first six months, your blog will start seeing some traction. But after twelve months, it will begin to see some traffic.

That means, one year after you started your blog, it starts showing up in search requests. But in two years, Niel said, its to start crushing it on Google.

Where To Optimize For Search Engine

Now, let’s even drive it home to where this optimisation happens. We have gone from understanding simple SEO, to what we optimise. We also looked at the targeted audience, to decide what the sources of the traffic. But we haven’t said anything about where we maximise.

Most optimisation for the search engine is on-page. You should carefully optimise each blog post before posting it to the public and letting Google index it. This optimisation takes care of the readability, keywords, tags, and images.

Optimizing all the areas that search engine will appraise for ranking. Moreover, some vital areas of each blog post require optimisation. That includes the title, post URL, and keyword density.

What is SEO Strategy?

Moreover, SEO strategy may seem complicated to a startup blogger. But it’s not complex at all. It’s the same with any plan. You define what to do to meet your specified goals.

SEO strategy is organising blog post by topics to help search engines understand and crawl your blog. It’s optimising your blog to attract search engine traffic around issues. But the key is in using related keywords to link targeted search to your blog.

An effective SEO strategy can take different forms. However, an active blog SEO strategy is something like this:

  • Topics – organise your niche blog topics to link together several related posts in a learning curve. For example: What is SEO as a topic is linked to other topics, also in this blog.
  • Keyword – finding and researching the best volume keywords for your blog that would drive targeted traffic from search requests.
  • Content – organising these topics and keywords in a well-written proposition. Make it readable by humans and search engine, and is useful to the search keywords related to it.
  • Blog Authority – develop page authority around your niche by posting new content regularly – daily or weekly.
  • Link Building – link your blog contents both internally and externally. It enhances the relevance of your content and entices search engines to rank your posts.
  • Track Your Progress – You need to keep an eye on how much progress you are making. Also, find areas you will need to improve and areas you need to increase your knowledge over time.

What is SEO Goal Setting?

Okay, let’s put it this way, it’s the exact picture of what you wanted to meet with your SEO strategy. Have short or long-term goals. And its something as simple as this:

  1. First 1,000 monthly visitors
  2. First 100 email sign ups
  3. Content target and keyword plan

You can define what you want to do within your first limits to measure your blog. It can even be one goal, like hitting your first 100 daily visitors.

My first goal was to build a blog with annual revenue that’s above $10,000. It was a small goal, but it motivated me every day.

Link within and outside your site

Set Regular SEO Strategy Goal

As little as my goal, it was the reason for my consistency to grow my blog. Goals are motivating. You need specific goals to drive your accomplishments. Make your goals readily achievable to avoid discouragement along the way.

For me, $10,000 in 365 days was an easy target. But it’s not a result you will see immediately. That made me work so hard for it to happen.

Therefore, I had the first six months set as my traffic optimisation target. There was the need to see much traffic before monetising my blog. It relaxed me a little. I wasn’t apprehensive about not making money from my blog. I already know the process. So, I’m just following it gladly.

If you think your strategy correctly, you will come up with specific goal settings. Like, what is SEO daily, weekly or even monthly goals? And how can it help to grow your blog faster? The answer to these two questions guides my SEO strategy.

Avoid trying to do everything at the same time. As a new blog, you will be noticing every day what you need to do to improve your blog. Don’t jump at every one of them. You are still a baby, and babies need time to grow up.

There are many of these pieces of advice online. Don’t derail from your goal and start pursuing these bits of information. Note the ones you can carry out and do them. And take others in advisement.

What is On-page SEO Factor?

What is SEO On-page reason? They are all those things that are within your influence on your blog. They are into two division. There are those you do once. And there are aspects you keep repeating for each post you share on your blog. These things include a site map, robot text file, URL structure, title tags, Meta Description, keywords, etc.

However, if you are using WordPress, it’s somewhat more SEO-friendly platform. And when you Combine it with the power of an SEO plugin, most technical challenges it takes care.

Also, the vital area of on-page SEO factors is your blog content. Areas like site speed and image optimisation add value as well. You should have primary SEO goal for your on-page optimisation. For example, like the target keyword traffic, you should optimise for weekly.

Remember, the search volume for each keyword differs. You are to find the keywords to optimise based on their amount of traffic. See more explanation on the SEO Keyword Strategy – What Is Keyword?

What is Off-page SEO Factors?

Also, you may ask: what is SEO off-page factor? It’s another aspect of SEO but takes place outside your blog. These are a bit more out of your influence.

It’s another word for external SEO. They are SEO work you do on other blogs or websites that direct points Traffic to your blog. Here, your backlinks building strategy comes in.

The more authority sites link back to your blog, the higher your ranking in Google will be. Google sees these backlinks as endorsements on the blog authority. And that promotes you above sites with less of these backlinks endorsements.

Your off-page strategy must also have a set goal. Off-page SEO is a gradual process. The result will be continuous and not instant.

Moreover, not every back links is right for your blog or may bring the right Traffic. The most important benefit of SEO is to drive targeted traffic to your blog. It’s not any traffic but those who are looking for what you do. So, your off-page strategy must follow the same plan.

What is SEO Plugin?

You cannot run an effective SEO strategy without the right SEO tools. Some companies have a whole department set up to manage their SEO strategy. It’s part of Company overall marketing strategy.

You may not match the budget and workforce these companies Marshall for SEO. But you can outsmart them with a useful SEO plugin on WordPress. SEO Plugin doesn’t take over your SEO work.

They help you in maintaining the right limits of search optimisation. And as well verifying the result you can meet. An effective SEO strategy will be the one that helps you rank for keywords that are within your reach effectively.

Remember, SEO is an overall strategy. And not just a one-off idea. You will need SEO plugin that will help you. To continuously carry out the best approach that will rank every post on your blog.

You might find the following posts useful with more details that guide you on this as well. Drive Awesome Free Blog Traffic With SEO and On-Page SEO Techniques – A Do-It-Yourself Guide.

Conclusion

See SEO strategy as a learning path. Give yourself room for improvement. And make it your plan to continually update your knowledge on what’s next in search engine optimisation.

Nobody knows what would rank best on search in the future, not even Google itself. But one thing is constant, good contents that users love will always win the fight and will always remain the best SEO strategy.

Learn How to Package SEO Content to Drive Massives Traffic to Your Blog

If you want to drive massive SEO traffic to your blog, your content can do it. However, you need well packaged SEO content to achieve it.

Your blog means nothing without content. And if you ever have a successful blog it’s because of your search engine optimized contents.

myblog Users

Now you can see how important content is to your blog.
If you then pay attention and good investment in your content you will win this SEO war.

I’m case you don’t know, your competitors might be putting more money to buy high quality contents. Don’t be busing looking for backlinks and keyword to rank you.

There’s Wrong And Right Way

If you lack good SEO content, even if you have traffic, they will be bouncing off your blog.

More backlinks can bring visitors to your blog. But it cannot keep them. It’s your content that keeps them.

Its like advert. If you click on an ad and you don’t like what it led you to, you won’t buy.

Ads don’t make people buy things. It’s the products advertised that do the final job.

The same way content is what people are visiting your blog to get. If it’s not good enough, they bounce off. And all that effort to get the traffic will be lost.

So, I’m advising you to put more effort in your SEO content than anything else on your blog. The 1,000 visitors that stayed on your blog are better than 100,000 that visited and left.

How Do You Choose The Right Topic

Do you wondered what could be the right content for your niche? Just the thought of it can deter someone.

But it’s not such a mountain to be afraid of. There is no content that someone have never written before.

So you have a guide on what to write. Just see what others have done. And you will have an idea on what you should be writing on.
Don’t make the mistake of copying someone’s content. You will be quilt of infringement

That is even a lesser sin. You will be harming your SEO in a way. Unless you have domain authority, don’t even republish a content.
Unique SEO contents is what drives SEO authority. For a beginner, building your content authority from inception is important.

Your secret if driving quality traffic with SEO is in your content. The higher your content quality the higher your traffic.

Although, content alone cannot drive search engine traffic to your blog. But without it you can’t even begin to get any traffic.

SEO Content Repurposing Strategy

Have you heard about Repurposing content? If you do, then you already know what it’s about.

But if you don’t know, let me explain. It’s taking another writers content and rewriting it for your purpose.

That’s the way I actually see it. While I don’t recommend this 100 percent, it’s doable. And there is nothing wrong with that if you do it well.

It’s not only done by those who can’t write good content. It’s now a concept of SEO. What topic are you going to write about that someone haven’t written before?

Just don’t copy and paste other blogs content. It reduces the authority of your blog on search engines.

I don’t know how some repurpose blog contents. For me, I would rather rewrite the content using my own unique writing trademark.

My kind of repurposing is to take each content by subheads. I would read and rewrite. Same topic but different approach.

Writing Keyword Based SEO Content

Keyword writing is another content strategy that is SEO complaint. But it’s mostly misunderstood.

Most writers focus mostly on the keyword they want to rank for. And in most cases, they make the content not readable.

Inasmuch as the keyword is important in SEO, search engine easily identifies keyword overuse. And it can push your blog off the page rank. Faster than how long it took you to get there.

Even if you want to play hard on the keyword game, there is a better way.

In fact, search engines don’t always rank your blog on the keywords you choose. It automatically chooses the best keywords to rank you for. And that’s because it reads your content.

So, it’s ranking you based on the subject of the content. And not majorly on the keyword.

For example, you can’t be ranked for “business” when your content is about “cooking”. Even if you choose business as your main keyword.

The keyword ranking algorithm is changing. Google is now reading through the contents. It doesn’t depend on your keyword suggestion.

Instead it ranks you based on the keywords that relates to your content. That has more SEO potential than just ranking for limited keywords.

Imagine if your content could rank for more than one keyword. And that’s possible. And it’s automatic. Your contents are already getting ranked for more keywords by google.

That means the ranking war is more on content than keyword. Google ranks your blog on the keywords that are relevant to your content.

Ranking Is User Focused

Google want to serve users contents that are more relevant to their search. So, if you have more quality content relevant to a top keyword you win.

You can download our free ebook on How to Start Your Own Blog, Optimize it for Search Engine and Monetize it for Profit – From Start to Finnish.

I also wrote about some strategies there on the content packaging.
The whole idea is to give the search engine the content it would ,over to share. If your content is certified by Google, you are well ahead to be read.

It means the writing itself must be well structured. I always advice that you should always write your article as a training guide.

See google as a school. And your content the textbook. While your blog is the teacher. Seeing the value chain like this will change the way you write content.

Crafting Readable SEO Content

If you feel you are not a good writer, think again. You may not be given yourself enough credit that you actually deserve.

The first time I wrote, it was as I speak. And I learnt it was more impactful that trying to write ‘textbook’ English. You can see it even in this blog.

I’m not a trained writer. But who cares. I can speak. That’s what qualifies me to be a great writer. And truly I write very well.

Because the best writers are those who write from their heart. The same way I would speak to you, I write to you. That’s more powerful than trying to make some textbook sense.

I wasn’t going to tell you how to construct your tenses and structure. I try not to do that myself. Just make yourself readable. Write as you speak and your content will just be fine.

Be Inspiring and Motivating

Also, don’t just write. Be inspiring and motivating. Some people’s life are already boring enough. Don’t add to it. Lift them up. Inspire a smile in them. Let them see a better version of what they do.

Sometimes the subject can be boring. But you can twist it to humour your readers. I don’t mean cracking jokes. Put the article in a way it gives hope. That’s inspiring enough.

Even when it’s bad news, deliver it with good news. Remember, you are not just writing for sethe the arch engine. The intended recipients are people. They have emotions.

You may not the expert in that niche. But be the most read in that niche.

Experts don’t always impact their audience rightly. If you must be an expert, let it be in lifting them up.

There is nothing as powerful as motivating beginners with the I can do mentality. Those who are doing it are also humans.

Provide Solutions With Value and Guidance

Your content must also deliver value. Nobody wants to waste their time reading trash. It must provide a solution. Or guide them in doing something they want to do.

Value is money. When people get value from your content, they feel like you have given them money.

Remember that they came to your blog looking for a solution. Even though you should monetize your content, always give free value. Money is not everything.

You will still make money with your blog. Don’t always focus on selling your value.

Conclusion

You should know that when something is free it drives traffic. Use your content as a free dragnet to d five traffic to your blog.

If it’s good content and free, visitors will love your blog. It will Are them come back again. And probably refer others to it.

Google is also seeing how people interact with your blog. If the people love your blog, Google will keep referring more people to you as they search your niche.

Finally, write your first content using some of the things you learnt from here. I will also like to know how the content is helpful to you. Drop a comment below. Cheers.
