Today we are going to share breastfeeding idea of nursing mothers as revealed by a Lagos, nursing mum. If you have a newborn or you are an expectant mother here is the secret you need to know and tap into quickly.
I’m going to be very brief, so you can scan it and start applying them. Also, I’m going to include some already known secret foods for newborn.
I know you, mothers, when you see some fleshy healthy babies you wish your own baby could be like that.
But indeed your baby can be like that if you know what other nursing mothers are doing.
Sometimes baby poop more than it should or less than it should and some mothers think the nappy wasn’t good enough to hold the poop.
What a baby eats affects the poop, but Prince and Princess’s diapers are designed to help with all kinds of baby poop.
Eating Habits of Nursing Mothers:
Let me start with you the nursing mother.
As Africans, we eat a lot of carbohydrates, and that has its place in your diet plan, but when you are breast-feeding a newborn baby, you need more than energy from carbs.
Breast Milk Are Not Made In Heaven:
If you think God makes breast milk in heaven, you are kidding yourself. God has given you a breast, it’s your body that makes the breast milk.
And it’s with what you feed into your body that breast milk is made from. If you eat only certain kind of food, that will be all the nutrients that will be found in your breast milk.
You cannot sow corn and harvest cassava. Like the Lagos mum advised, chose what you eat and your body will determine what your breast milk is made of.
And that can also affect your baby poop, milk supply, milk quality and can also reduce baby gas.
And in her words, you need specific food in your diet, like oatmeal blended with fruits in some cinnamon or honey. Spinach is also a vegetable you can add as a side dish to any dinner.
Garlic is essential as it helps in breast milk supply and can thwart certain cancers.
What Newborn Should Be Eating:
Now to foods for newborn babies. This does not replace breast milk or even cereal. A child needs different nutrients, and you cannot substitute any for another.
But to adequately feed the child and provide him or her with all the required nutrients you can improvise as a mother to give your baby the best.
Lagos mum advice giving babies vegetables, meat and fruit purée. And here are a list of some of the foods she recommends: for plants, it’s sweet potatoes and squash.
While for fruits she recommends apple, banana and peaches. And for meat, she says, beef, chicken and pork.
Also, note that you can only begin to feed your baby with these purée from 4 to 6 months. If your baby doesn’t eat what you offer the first time, try again in a few days. Introduce new foods one at a time.
Wait two or three days, if possible, before offering another fresh food. It’s also a good idea to write down the foods your baby samples. If he has an adverse reaction, a food log will make it easier to pinpoint the cause.
Thank you for reading today’s post, and I hope it blessed you as much it did for me.
